Leslie Nielsen and Irvin Kershner R.I.P

 Leslie Nielsen as Commander Adams

"Forbidden Planet" is a sci-fi masterpiece and one of my all time favorite films. It stars Leslie Nielsen as the dashing and brave Commander Adams and will forever remind us of this great mans fantastic and long career as an actor. May he forever shine among the stars...

The Star Wars films are hugely influenced by "Forbidden Planet" and sadly Irvin Kershner, the director of my absolute favorite; "Star Wars Episode 5 - The Empire Strikes Back", passed away today also. His impact on generations of Star Wars fans is substantial , as he gave us the funniest, most romantic and dramatic film in the whole series. His commentary track on the DVD edition is superb and left me with the impression that Mr. Kershner was a funny and warmhearted man. May the force be with him always...

MyTrend Army!

Nothing can beat warm, comfy and durable clothes in the winter. This is a selection from a Danish web-shop called Army Star. They have tons of cool stuff that will keep you looking stylish this season and the next (or forever for that matter) since the army/utility/man vs. nature look only seem to get bigger and bigger. Clothes that last at a good price? Win win all the way!

  Viktor&Rolf for H&M

As posted earlier, I`m really into sweatpants these days, so here is the natural follow-up on sweatshirts.

I`ve been loving these since I got one from the Viktor&Rolf for H&M collection in 2006 (still the best collaboration for men to date) and here are a few of my favourites available online now:

A Man and His Bag

Bags are cool. I rarely leave the house without one. Sometimes all I carry is an apple and a book, other times I bring fresh clothes and a washbag for that night out I just know will go on till Monday. So when you get one, make sure it looks as good stuffed as it does half empty.

This winter it`s all about the canvas/leather/utility combo. For the gym, nylon is still the best way to go, but for the week-end make it a tough yet chic looking holdall. The alternative to the bag is the back-pack and in a crowded city nothing can beat it for practicality. The back-back is having a big "moment" these days, but if you´re over 30, try to find one that doesn`t make you look like a teenage wannabe. I´ll post a back-pack feature soon...

Look of the day 18.11.2010

Today I wore something looking a lot like this:

The Radio Dept.

One of my absolute favorite bands. Their whole back catalogue is superb.

New Looks

 "Intellectual Street Activist"
Cargo pants. I am a bit obsessed with them these days. I also like the mixed print action and the leather accents.

"Understated Prep"
Cozy textures meet sharp tailoring. The scarf ads some avant-garde to a rather conservative way of dressing.

"Glamorous Hike"
A perfect look for a walk in urban woodlands. The silk scarf and aviators add a touch of glamour.

I`m gonna make you sweat

Sweatpants has made a triumphant return to catwalks across the world. The trend has been on the rise for some time and reached full bloom this a/w season, as thoroughly reported by GQ.com. I`ve seen them on the streets in all kinds of shapes and with varied success, so here are a few I feel will give you that right sweatpant look!
